This is a cute book about getting through your first day of school, if you are a young sea monster and the school you are going to is a school of fish. Sea Monster deals with not fitting in, getting made fun of, not being able to do everything right, and more. He responds to all of these things with great poise, and by the end of the day Sea Monster has learned to that his uniqueness can also help him to get along and make friends. The illustrations are fun, colorful, and cartoonish. The message is obvious. This would be a good choice to read to a child getting ready to go to school for the first time.

Cute idea and could probably be read more than just at the first of the year. Would love to have this at our school for when new kids move in and are having a hard time.

It is so difficult for some children to fit in so this would definitely fill that niche! Would love to have a copy!

What? A Sea Monster responding to trouble at school with great poise? Are you sure he didn’t just eat everyone? I would have to read it to believe it…
