Spirit’s Princess

spiritsprincessWritten by Esther Friesner

Himiko is very young and adores her older brother Aki. She wants to be a hunter like him, but of course girls are not allowed to be hunters. She falls out of a pine tree and breaks her leg. The shaman “Lady Yama” sets it and sends her to bed for several weeks. Himiko runs away to see the cherry trees in bloom and gets lost only to find a new clan and make new friends. Along the way she learns many lessons and finds out what her life path should be.
