Hanukkah in Alaska

hanukkahinalaskaWritten by Barbara Brown, Illustrated by Stacey Schuett

A young girl tells about the problem they can have with moose in Alaska where she lives. She is afraid that a moose that finds her backyard appealing will destroy her swing. She makes a Hanukkah treat and the moose eats it and leaves. I had no idea that children in Alaska hug trees if a moose comes along. This book is informative as well as entertaining. Although we are tired of winter in Utah, we don’t often have to cope with moose in our backyards.
