Scorching Supercars

Scorching SupercarsWritten by Steve Goldsworthy

This is a great reference book about super cars that kids will love to read. I don’t care about cars at all, and often can’t tell my own car from a different style. I care even less about super cars yet this was an enjoyable book to read. This book held really interesting facts which were very well explained.

The overall readability and presentation of the book was fabulous. The reading level for the book was 5.6. This is one of four car books in the Edge Book series. The pictures are clear and easy to look at. The captions and boxes with information were interesting and easy to read. I found myself looking forward to finding out what a Maybach Exelero would look like since only one had ever been made. (I had to look it up on the internet, though.) I learned a lot about supercars from this book – more than I ever cared to learn, and it was interesting and fun. I loved that a Bio-Fibre was made from seeds to create the body of the BIOME. It’s cool that a manufacturer created a new material for this car. I hope it works well enough to develop a practical use for it. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport can go 267.8 miles an hour, but would use all the gas in 10 minutes and the tires would burn up in 15 minutes. Wow. I think that’s really interesting, (and silly.)

This is a really well-done book.
