Witherwood Reform School

Witherwood Reform SchoolWritten by Obert Skye, Illustrated by Keith Thompson

Tobias and Charlotte Eggers, a brother and sister who are entirely too clever for their own good, have pushed their widowed father to the breaking point by feeding their nanny, Martha, slugs in her gravy. They need a lesson and they need a big one. Abandoned temporarily by their father, Ralph Eggers, at the creepy gates of Witherwood Reform School, the children suddenly find themselves more permanently trapped as new students. Ralph planned to return for them, but a car crash has left him with amnesia, while the children find themselves locked into a creepy, dangerous place with no way out. Strange things are happening; strange and dangerous animals are set to keep them in; strange instructors are controlling their every move as they are being prepared for some ominous end. Could a boy named Fiddle, who thinks they are part of his imagination, be their only way out? This novel, the first in a new series by Obert Skye, is a fast paced, exciting, entertaining read that students should enjoy. The characters are believable and the plot has some nice twists. I highly recommend this story and look forward to Book Two!
