The World’s Strangest Foods (Library of Weird)

The World's Strangest FoodsWritten by Alicia Z. Klepeis

WARNING: This book contains some really diverse food choices from around the world. This book is not a great read aloud as there is a real possibility that someone listening may experience nausea. I had to stop reading this book aloud to my class because of several students feeling queasy. However, there are students that have an extreme interest in reading or learning about “interesting” foods. Having this book available in a school or classroom library will definitely draw student interest. The book is arranged in detailed chapters with intriguing chapter headings. The pages are numbered for easy access to text. The photographs are detailed and provide excellent support for the facts presented in the text. The descriptions of each type of food are short and concise, but plentiful with information.
