Swap!

Swap!By Steve Light

Steve Light’s delightful illustrations compliment the sparse text in the story of a peg legged boy swapping items to cheer up his friend. The illustrations are very similar to Steve Light’s other titles, mainly black and white line drawings with thoughtful use of color and interesting details. I liked that the child thinks of the solution for the adult. Other reviewers also noticed that the boy has a disability but the detail is not so obvious that it feels like a lesson. Great for students who like pirates or teachers looking for a book to compliment a subtraction lesson.
