Human Body Theater

Human Body TheaterBy Maris Wicks

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the human body, but find the books to be really boring and not fun to read? Human Body Theater is NOT like those other books, at all. The illustrations are fun, the text is easy to read and so full of information presented in a fun way, kids won’t realize they are learning useful things. Most of the content is acceptable for 4-6 without a doubt, but there is some content that might cause some uncomfortable conversations at home. There is one section that has to do with reproduction, puberty and body changes. Some parents may not want their kids sex education (mostly just the differences between boys and girls and the correct terminology for body parts) coming across in a jokey, fun type manner, and some may not want them reading books about their bodies changing from the school library. Overall, it’s a super informative book that is presented in a fun way. If you can pick it up, you should. Be prepared to read it and maybe even laugh at some of the parts. Be careful of who you recommend it to, but I think it’s a great read for kids.
