What Were The Twin Towers?

What Were The Twin Towers

Written by Jim O’Connor, Illustrated by Ted Hammond

Elementary readers today were not alive when September 11, 2001 changed America forever. This book, What Were The Twin Towers?, explains to them the facts, from the towers’ first inception to the memory monuments, fountains, and museum that now stand in 2016. I like the way the author explains this act of terrorism on the United States without creating fear or prejudice. This helps readers in grades 3 to 6 to understand what really happened in detail for their age. There are also black and white illustrations and 16 pages of actual photographs. This is a great addition to our United States history collection in our library. I highly recommend reading this book.
