I Am Princess X

I am Princess X is a combination novel and graphic novel. It starts out with two girls who are not able to participate in their school’s P.E. class. They start drawing and writing a story about a Princess that is not your typical sweet princess. Libby drew the pictures, and May wrote the story. When Libby is killed in a car crash with her mother, the story of Princess X seemingly dies with her. But a few years later, when May is sixteen, images of Princess X start to pop all around her. As she sets out to discover where these images are coming from she finds herself in danger and on the run for her life.

This is a book that will keep you guessing and on your toes as you read. I was hoping for a book for my students, but found that it might be a bit too graphic for elementary age kids. It deals with kidnapping and murder. But it is a perfect book for 7th grade and up.

Great review, Nanette. I really liked the book also but, like you, I had to pass for the elementary students.
