Snow White: A Graphic Novel

snow-white-a-graphic-novelWritten and Illustrated by Matt Phelan

It is safe to say that this is the best graphic novel I have ever read. I have not actually read very many graphic novels, but this one was excellent. It was a clever retelling of a classic fairy tale, set in the late 1920s in New York City. The poignant artwork adds an emotional depth to the story that we did not feel in the Disney version that made Snow’s tale so popular. My favorite part, besides the beautiful ambiance created by such thoughtful artwork, was ***SPOILER ALERT*** the demise of the wicked queen. If you love art, if you love fairy tales, if you love justice, if you love beauty, then this book is for you!
