The Football Girl

Written by Thatcher Heldring

The story takes place on May 6 through July 29 in the small town of Pilchuck. Pilchuck is a small town and words are known to spread quickly.

Tessa is one of the main characters. She is a very determined, intelligent, athletic high school girl who loves to run track with her friends. She is also falling for a boy named Caleb. Her mom is running for mayor.

Caleb is the other main character. He plays on the high school football team. He dreams of following in his father’s and brother’s foot steps of being a football star.

This book is a really fun and easy to read book. I enjoyed it. It was a nice love story with a twist of betrayal and determination. There was always something great waiting on the next page.

Tessa likes to run track. Suddenly she runs her self right into a complicated relationship with Caleb.
Her life changes for the worst when her mom decides to run for mayor. She wants to sign up for the football camp with Caleb but is losing her friendship with the girls on the track team. This is causing Caleb’s team mates to tease him about having his girl friend on the team.

Tessa ends up joining the football camp and even though it was a big deal in the beginning, her friends still support her and no one cares if she’s a girl as long as she wears a helmet.
