Stickmen’s Guide to Mountains and Valleys in Layers

Written by Catherine Chambers, Illustrated by Venitia Dean and John Paul de Quay

This is another book in the Stickmen’s Guide series, and just like the others, it doesn’t disappoint. In this one, mountains, slopes, plains, and valleys are discussed in a factual but fun way. Everything from weather to land formations, animals to human living conditions, and more are highlighted. Even though the book just skims the subject’s surface, I always learn something new. I didn’t know that “India’s River Ganges has the world’s largest delta.” It measures in at a whopping 38,610 square miles! Nor did I know that wild coffee grows in the mountains of Ethiopia. Who knew? Not me…until I read the book. This is a series that is definitely worth checking out.
