The Last Kids on Earth and the Zombie Parade

The Last Kids on Earth, #2

Written by Max Brallier, Illustrated by Doug Holgate

In this sequel to The Last Kids on Earth, 13-year-old abandoned foster kid turned-monster slayer Jack Sullivan and his makeshift army discover that the zombies are disappearing. Jack and his squad set out to solve the mystery. It turns into an all-out monster brawl to save their world. This continuation of the series capitalizes on gross-out fun. The characters in the book, work through their fears or loss, abandonment and loneliness and unite as a family. It is a rousing adventure with lots of fast-paced mystery and the fun artwork supports a funny tone.

Boys will find this pitch perfect mix of humor and bravado, and self-professed geekiness impossible to resist. This is truly an apocalyptic adventure with a lot of heart. A must have for Jr high libraries!
