Written and Illustrated by Mark Teague
It’s a tale of pirates off to a jamboree, but before the party gets too out of hand along comes the dreaded “S.S. Clean Your Room.” Although the illustrations are bright and colorful telling the tale of a scurvy bunch of pirates (aka neighborhood rascals) the meter is off on the rhyming text and it doesn’t flow too well as a read aloud. This would be better as a lap read as the vocabulary might be a bit advanced for the intended audience.
