I loved this book! I didn’t want it to end, this book just made me laugh and smile. Princess Anya has an older sister Morven, who will be queen soon is being watched over by her stepstepfather who is trying to take over their kingdom by evil magic. Anya’s stepstepfather turns Morven’s prince into a frog, and the only way to turn him back into a prince is for Anya to go on a quest to get all the hard to find ingredients. Anya is accompanied by a royal dog named Ardent and they run into quite a variety of characters along their way.

Anya, a second princess, is on a quest to disenchant the prince whom her sister Morven had been in love with. Her stepfather had not only turned this prince into a frog, but produced another prince to lure Morven’s heart away by singing to her.

He threatens to send Anya to school at a place so far away that she’s in danger merely going there. He wants to keep her away from her kingdom.

A failed sorcerer that turns into an Owl, who is the librarian, has a recipe for lip balm that makes other kisses effective as if it’s a true love kiss. They accidentally use it on another enchanted frog, so Anya must go on a quest to gather the ingredients to make this special lip balm.

There are talking dogs, witches who need onions, flying carpets, and wizards good and evil. Readers will learn what the kingdoms were like when unified as one, the differences between sorcerers and wizards, why it’s said that a garden is a prison, and more. Anya wants to turn everyone back to the original form. She has a great adventure in this story.
