Liberty’s Voice: The Emma Lazarus Story

Emma Lazarus was a Jewish woman that was inspired to write poetry from her heart. As a result of the suffering of the Jewish people in Russia and immigrating to the US, she wrote poems, plays, and articles on their plight. She is best known for her poem “The New Colossus which is on a plaque on the base of the Statue of Liberty.
