Jimmy Zangwow’s Out-of-this-World Moon-Pie Adventure

It took me back to my childhood of eating Moon Pies and playing outside using my imagination.

Written and Illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi

Jimmy’s mom won’t let him have a Moon Pie because it would ruin his dinner. He goes outside in his backyard and climbs in his secret project, a junk jalopy. The jalopy rockets up into the sky and takes Jimmy on an adventure. He travels to the moon to get Moon Pies and to the Milky Way to get milk. He crashes on Mars and that is where the adventure gets crazy. Cute book. Maybe I loved it because it took me back to my childhood of eating Moon Pies and playing outside using my imagination. The illustrations were wonderful.

  1. The cover is eye-catching and the story sounds like it goes where a child’s imagination would naturally go when there’s talk of “Moon Pies” and the “Milky Way”… (I feel younger already.)
