School Days According to Humphrey

Book 7 in the delightful Humphrey Series

Written by Betty G. Birney

Humphrey is returning to school after spending part of his summer at camp with the friends he made in Room 26. But, much to his surprise and dismay, the children who enter Room 26 are not the friends he had made over the last year. He is certain they have made a mistake and they are lost trying to find their room. As he learns more about school procedure and discovers the personalities of each of the new students in the class, he continues to solve problems that occur. In case you didn’t know, Humphrey is the class pet that was brought to school by a substitute….and he stayed. This is the seventh in the Humphrey series, the first being The World According to Humphrey, which was a Beehive Nominee. This series is a delight. There is no extreme drama or tense situations, but there are wonderful lessons on caring for others, overcoming fear of the unknown, handling problems, and enjoying life. This would be a great read-aloud, especially at the beginning of the school year. Humphrey has won my heart and I think you will LIKE-LIKE-LIKE this book (in Humphrey talk)!
