Bun Bun Button

Written and Illustrated by Patricia Polacco

A charming tale of Gramma Darling and her young granddaughter named Paige. Gramma has a menagerie of pets; five Siamese kitties, two dogs, a goldfish, and a pet squirrel. All of the animals had toys that Gramma had made just for them; everyone except Paige, her granddaughter. So Gramma made a very special stuffed bunny for her. “I’m going to call her Bun Bun Button!” One sunny day they went for a walk in the park and came upon a man selling balloons. Gramma picked out the biggest red one for her granddaughter. “It’s filled with helium. If you let that string go, it will float up and far away” Gramma warned. When they got home, Paige tied the balloon to Bun Bun’s arm. Sure enough, Bun Bun accidentally got away and went on a great adventure. Bright and colorful illustrations add action and excitement to each page.
