Good Little Wolf

Written and Illustrated by Nadia Shireen

In this book Nadia Shireen gives us the story of the Good Little Wolf, a character lost to our modern fairy tale canon. Good Little Wolf spends his time hanging out with his friends the three pigs and Mrs. Boggins, presumably the grandmother to Little Red Riding Hood. He is content until the day he meets the Big Bad Wolf in the woods and has his very wolf-ness questioned. To prove his wolf-ness to the Big Bad Wolf, he tries to howl at the moon, but only whistles. He tries, with permission, to blow down little pig’s house, but fails. But when Big Bad Wolf has Mrs. Boggins in his clutches and tempts Little Wolf to eat her, his true wolf-ness finally bursts out to save his friend. Clean, cute illustrations and a shock ending (I won’t spoil it here) set this book apart.
