The Bridge to Never Land

Starcatchers, Book 5

Written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson

When Aidan stole his sister Sarah’s cell phone in order to get his crush’s phone number, he never expected to hit his head on a mystery (literally, of course). While trying to escape his sister, Aidan hits his head on his father’s antique desk and opens up a secret compartment. Inside the desk, they find a note from a Magill. Upon further investigating, the two siblings discover that the characters from Peter and the Starcatchers are real and that there are darker forces afoot than one could ever imagine. When the two’s family travels to London, England, Aiden and Sarah stumble into more of the answers to their mystery as well as the evil, mysterious Lord Umbra, the villain from Peter and the Sword of Mercy who was after star stuff, a magical substance that could take over the world. Now the siblings’ only hope of defeating Umbra is to find the original Starcatchers or their descendants, but how do you find people that aren’t supposed to exist? Can Aidan and Sarah save the world and stop Lord Umbra?

An entertaining, plot-driven fantasy adventure. The characters are entertaining and well-developed. The plot is fast-moving with a well-constructed mystery. Readers who like fantasy, adventure, action, and Peter Pan will love reading this book. Although you can read this book without reading the first four Starcatchers books, I do recommend reading the others first.
