Worst of Friends

Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and the True Story of an American Feud

Written by Suzanne Tripp Jurmain, Illustrated by Larry Day

Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were good friends but their different opinions of how to run the newly-formed United States ruined that friendship. They each became members of opposing political parties and for many years that friendship waned. This is an informative, enjoyable book about politics and friendships. I truly enjoyed reading it and learned information I was not aware of. I plan on taking this book home to read to my husband. I’m sure there were some points that were not “politically correct,” but because I’m not that politically informed I wasn’t offended, and it is a picture book, ok. The illustrations are colorful and humorous and I was glad I had just reviewed “I Grew Up To Be President” so I could go back and read up a little more about these two presidents. It is also a great book about resolving friendships.
