Lee Jones and Joan Lee are best friends. We meet them as they go on a field trip to a San Francisco lighthouse after they have both learned that their parents are getting divorced which means they may no longer live close to each other. They sneek away from the group, climb the lighthouse and end up in a time travel adventure where they meet up with Samuel Clemens. I’m not quite sure I was convinced as they bounce around in time, all the while encouraging a shy Clemens to keep writing and not give up – he still has his best books to write, of course. Both hope to land back in a time where they can change their parents minds about the divorce, which never seems to be the case. We meet some interesting characters in the book and have quite an adventure.
