A Corner of White

corner_of_white_coverThe Colors of Madeleine, Book 1

Written by Jaclyn Moriarty

A reality/fantasy tale that alternates between two worlds. There is “the world” – that’s us, and the Kingdom of Cello and the Farms. Elliot is searching for his father and there are various theories as to what happened to his father. Elliot is quite the character. He is good in school, good looking, thoughtul (mostly), helpful and a great Delft player. Read the book and see if you can figure out what the sport of Delft is? The kingdom of Cello is plagued by attacks from various colors. In the world we have the character of Madeleine, who has also lost her father, that is, she and her mother ran away from her father and now live in relative poverty. Through a small crack Elliot and Madeleine begin a strange correspondence with each other. Through their strange letters, they actually solve some of the problems, but the main search for fathers will probably happen in a sequel. Good read, but a little hard to follow.
