A wonderful picture book without words describes a young girl who escapes into her own world by drawing her story and adventure with red crayon. She draws a red door, opens it and enters into a world of excitement and danger. After losing her red crayon she is rescued by a purple bird that returns her red crayon and is able to draw and create a new friend and playmate.
