Following Papa’s Song

followingpapassongWritten and Illustrated by Gianna Marino

A very beautiful story of a father and son who are whales traveling during migration. The son, “Little Blue,” asks his father many questions:

“Papa? Are we going very far?”
“How will we know which way to go?”
“How do you swim so fast?”
“When I am big will I still hear your song?”

As they begin their journey the son gets distracted by a flash deep down in the ocean and gets separated from his father. As Little Blue realizes he is lost, he cries out “Papa! Where are you?” and then he remembers to listen closely for his father’s whale song to be reunited with him.
This is a heartwarming story that teaches the importance of listening to what your parents tell you so that you can be safe. The illustrations are very beautiful and colorful.
