Shackleton: Antarctic Odyssey

shackletonWritten and Illustrated by Nick Bertozzi

Good graphic history of Sir Shackleton’s journeys to the South Pole. He tried three times and on the last attempt was frozen into the ice and spent months trying to get free. The ice finally crushed the ship. The crew got away safely and walked and used the life boats to get to Elephant Island. Their trials and horrors are huge, but Shackleton never lost faith that they would get through it and get home safe. I think the kids who read this are going to get some history and enjoy it a lot. I did.
