All Mr. Pants wants to do on this last day of summer vacation before school starts is play laser tag. But his sisters, having done all their mother asked them to do over the summer, get their wishes first. Foot Foot, his one sister, saved her allowance and gets a new toy and Grommy, his other sister, gets a trip to the Fairy Princess Dream Factory. Follow the antics of this annoying but lovable cat, as he tries his best to outsmart his sisters and get his own way. This is a funny story that young children will relate to with relationships with siblings. Children who are ready to move from picture books may find this an excellent transition book to chapter books with its easy graphic novel style. I especially laughed at Mr. Pants’ trip with his sisters to the Princess Dream Factory. And the ever patient “Mom” is wonderful. Students who love Bad Kitty, Fly Guy and Wimpy Kid should love reading this book as well and look forward to the next book.
