The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place

scandaloussisterhoodWritten by Julie Berry

The seven young students at Saint Etheldreda’s School for Young Ladies have no desire to return home, but when their headmistress and her brother are “inconveniently poisoned at Sunday dinner” they know that home is where they are headed unless they come up with a plan. Thus the riotous journey begins as they bury the corpses in the garden, disguise one of the girls as the headmistress, and deceive the entire village, for a time at least. This entire story is tongue-in-cheek and a delightful read from start to finish.

  1. I also really enjoyed the humor of this book and that while it was slightly fantastical, I never found myself thinking, “That would never happen,” because the story was so engaging. I listened to this book on OverDrive and the narrator for the audiobook, Jayne Entwistle, perfectly captures the tone of the book and of each character. Glad to see others are enjoying this book as well!
