Remy and Lulu

remyandluluWritten and Illustrated by Kevin Hawkes, with miniatures by Hannah F. Harrison

Although Remy has poor eyesight, he is deeply passionate about painting. His style is wild, free and colorful, yet hardly anyone appreciates his talent. Wandering about the french countryside, he finds few customers until Lulu the dog secretly changes his luck, and they become the toast of the town. But what is Lulu hiding from Remy? And how does Remy regain his love of painting? Read this perfectly charming story, Remy and Lulu, to find out how devotion, love and true friendship can make all the difference. And seeing clearly just might have more to do with the heart than the eye. I loved this story so much. It is funny, yet tender and heartwarming. The color is so vibrant and alive that is seems to splash right off the page! The miniatures are simply amazing. And to me, Remy reminded me so much of Van Gogh, whose paintings I love. I highly recommend this book.
