If I could, I would give this book 3.5 stars: 3 stars for first 90% and then 4 stars for the fun ending. Milo was adopted and sometimes he finds himself wondering about his birth family. Not that he doesn’t love his parents, he does. He just wishes he knew where he came from. His parents run a bed and breakfast in a large house with green stained glass windows – thus the name of the book. It is Christmas vacation and Milo is looking for time alone with his parents. That hope dies when several mysterious strangers arrive. In the next few days Milo makes a new friend, solves some thefts, learns secrets about his home, faces a man at gunpoint, finds a treasure, and gains peace about his constant questions about his birth family. The downside to this interesting story is that Milford takes nearly 400 pages to tell a 300 page story and in doing so, adds way to many story-lines that are left unresolved. Still, most will be glad they stuck to it in the end.
