The Only Thing to Fear

The Only Thing to FearWritten by Caroline Tung Richmond

The book is based around the idea that Germany won World War II and has conquered the eastern half of the United States, along with most of Europe. Zara is a 16 year old and lives in these Eastern American Territories, under strict oppression. Under the Nazi rule the government strives to maintain the master race, and those who don’t fit in are punished. Zara’s mother (who has died) and uncle are part of a growing group of rebels willing to fight against the Nazi regime in order to once again live in a free America. Zara has always been told that she may have nothing to do with the Alliance until it is discovered that she may hold the key to taking down the Fuhrer. Zara must decide how she will handle this new knowledge and if she has it in her to help the Alliance and make the world she lives in a better place.
