Quinny & Hopper

Quinny & HopperWritten by Adrian Brad Schanen, Illustrated by Greg Swearingen

When her family moves into a new place, Quinny is worried about making new friends. When she meets the neighbor, Hopper, they don’t hit it off at first, but decide to give each other a second chance. When they get together, hijinks ensue and polar opposites seem to work together. Each more hair-brained than the last, including catching Freya the stray chicken, learning to juggle, and climbing trees. As school starts, however, the two struggle to keep their friendship going amidst bullies and third grade rules that say the two aren’t supposed to be friends. Will their friendship survive?

A funny, light-hearted novel for boy and girl fans of Junie B. Jones, Judy Moody, My Weird School, and other humorous books. The characters are well-developed for an early chapter book and are likable. Readers who enjoy friendship stories, school fiction, and realistic adventure will enjoy reading this book.
