Nightborn (Thrones & Bones, #2)

NightbornWritten by Lou Anders, Illustrated by Justin Gerard

This is the second adventure in the Thrones & Bones series. I struggled with the first book, but decided to give the second book a try anyway! I am so glad that I did! This second book is action packed and kept me captivated all the way through!

Karn, gamer boy from Norrongard, goes in search of his friend Thianna, a frost giant, who hasn’t returned from her quest to find a magic horn which can control dragons. Along the way new and exciting characters are introduced constantly. Dark elves are also trying to recover the horn for more selfish purposes and will do anything to get it! The clues to find the horn are left in riddle form and lead from one adventure to another. Desstra, a dark elf that had disguised herself as a wood elf, was part of a group of dark elves trying to find the second horn. She didn’t believe that she had to kill, hurt, or trick people like the other dark elves. Karn, however, thought she was a friend trying to help him find Thianna. Would she be friend or foe? The ending was epic with twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. An exciting and fun read!
