Monster: A Graphic Novel

Monster - A Graphic NovelWritten by Walter Dean Myers, Adapted by Guy A. Sims, Illustrated by Dawud Anyabwile

Sixteen year old Steve Harmon is on trial for murder, but is it a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or simply having the wrong color skin? Join a scared boy as he takes you through his trial and life in prison. Watch the witnesses create the story of the events while his lawyer tries to help him escape a life behind bars.

The graphic-novel adaptation of Monster by Walter Dean Myers does a great job of telling the original story. The pictures capture the characters and their uniqueness. The content of the graphic novel, like the original, is best for grades 9 and up.
