I hadn’t read a Notebook of Doom book yet, but after reading this one, I feel like I need to read more! While on a field trip to a safety amusement park, Alex and the rest of the S.S.M.P club are convinced that a monster they have dealt with before is back. But on a roller coaster ride which turns out to be just as exciting as the dentist chair when it moves, they discover that it’s an entirely new monster! They also learn from this new beast that there is a boss monster and she wants the notebook that has all of the monster facts in it.

Will Alex and his friends be able to avoid this monster and it’s terrible claws, or is this the end? You’ll have to read the book to find out!

I’d recommend this book to students who are ready for the easier chapter books, but it’s also a super quick read if an older students wants to read something on the funny side.
