Stickmen’s Guide to Gigantic Machines

Stickmen's Guide to Gigantic MachinesWritten by Chris Oxlade, Illustrated by Jerry Pyke

What better way to learn about things than to have little stickmen guide you through interesting information and fascinating tidbits?! The book starts out with a description and history of large machines. What follows is page after page of facts, photos, and drawings of gigantic machines. I found myself truly amazed at some of the machines that are used in the world every day. Some of my favorites: The Liebherr cranes, not yet to full height (1000 m), being used to build the Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia; and Hans and Franz (love the names), crawler vehicles at the Kennedy Space Center. Highly recommended for students and anyone with the love of learning.
