New YA Fiction in OverDrive | May 2016

With summer vacation in sight, school librarians will soon remind students to bring in all the checked out books. But this doesn’t mean anyone has to stop reading; summer is the perfect time to dig into a new book, and Granite’s OverDrive Digital Library (http://granite.lib.overdrive.com) will be available all summer long for all students and staff members, wherever they are on almost any computer or mobile device.

We are constantly adding new ebooks and audiobooks to our collection, which now numbers nearly 7,000 titles across K-12. Check out the posters below for some of the latest releases added to the YA collection for May 2016.  We also have many new releases in our juvenile collection, they just aren’t shown here. Log in to OverDrive to check them out.

  1. I LOVE OVERDRIVE. I have the hard copy of the 1st book of a series titled “The School for Good and Evil” by Soman Chainani, I didn’t know if it would be popular with the upper grades at my school so I went to Overdrive and borrowed the 2nd of the series and I am now reading the last one. I will buy them if students start requesting them. It is a good way to read the rest of the series of a book without purchasing them in hard copy until you know how much they will be checked out.

  2. What a great selection of books! I love to have ebooks so that I always have something to read. I have overdrive on my phone and love to check books out from the county library. I was so excited to have another library to add so I can get on every hold list I can find. Love reading the Selection Series and the last book made me happy.
