Life Without Nico

Life Without NicoWritten by Andrea Maturana, Illustrated by Francisco Javier Olea

Maia and Nico are the best of friends and do everything together. Then Nico moves. At first Maia feels lonely and empty inside. But little by little, she adjusts, makes a new friend, and finds happiness again. When Nico returns, she is excited, but nervous about how their friendship will be now. Then she learns that there is always room for friendship and though we may part from each other, the friendship is within us and never leaves.

I moved 13 times before I was 18. I would have loved to have this book to help me through each transition, each new friendship, each old friendship that moved with me over and over again. Wonderful book!
