Never Missing, Never Found

Never Missing, Never FoundWritten by Amanda Panitch

Set in modern times, Scarlett is abducted at the age of seven. During this time, she is mentally and physically abused. Her abuser, ‘Stepmother’ ‘finds’ her a friend who goes by the name of Pixie. They develop a strange relationship, and were friends until Scarlett kills her…

Fast forward and Scarlett is a teenager. The book goes back into the time of her imprisonment, and forward to current time.

Scarlett works at an amusement park. Another girl goes missing. Katharina is another employee at the park. When she says things like, “better missing than dead”, Scarlett wonders if she could actually be Pixie. That was the exact quote she used to use during their time together. When Scarlett’s sister befriends Kat, strange things start to happen. She blacks out more than once and wakes up with no knowledge of where she had been.

This book kept me interested and quite entertained until the end. I feel the author tried so hard to have an ending that was so crazy and intense that it didn’t even make sense.
