The Not-So-Faraway Adventure

The Not-So-Faraway AdventureWritten by Andrew Larsen, Illustrated by Irene Luxbacher

A sweet story of a young girl named Theo and her Poppa. Theo loved to look inside her poppa’s trunk. There were pictures, postcards, maps and menus of things from his adventures. Theo wanted to be an explorer just like Poppa. Soon it would be Poppa’s birthday and Theo was trying to think of the perfect gift for him. As she talks to Poppa she comes up with an idea and sketches a map of a place where they can go together for his birthday.

I loved this story about how a granddaughter and her grandpa can spend time together and make memories of special times together. The illustrations are fun they have different looking textures and vibrant colors.

  1. I think that the idea of having a story about a grandparent and a grandchild is sweet. There needs to be more books like these.
