Now You See Them, Now You Don’t

now-you-see-them-now-you-dontPoems About Creatures That Hide

Written by David L. Harrison, Illustrated by Giles Laroche

This is an engaging book. Each poem is dedicated to a certain animal and is written to depict the animal’s behavior. For example, in the copperhead snake poem, the s sound is extended to replicate the hissing of the snake. The images are beautiful and help the reader see how the animals conceal themselves. At the end of the book you can find more information about each animal. The additional information can help readers understand the word choice used in the poems. It is an informal book and can introduce readers to poetry.
