This Is a Serious Book

This book reminds me a lot of The Book With No Pictures, except this one does have pictures and they are pretty creative. The narrarator is trying to make the book a serious one, with no fun in it at all. But donkey has a different idea. One of the first few pages has a list of things the book shouldn’t have…..handstands, dressing up, funny faces. And of course tooting. The picture that goes with that made me laugh right out loud. As the book goes on, more and more funny stuff happens until the narrarator gives up. The end of the book shows the donkey with a red paintbrush and a new title for the book.

  1. You’ve piqued my interest Allyson. I’m going to check this one out. Out of curiosity, why did you only give it 3 1/2 stars?
