The Christmas Boot

Written by Lisa Wheeler, Illustrated by Jerry Pinkney

Hannah is a lonely poor woman who lives in an old ramshackle cabin all by herself. She is out gathering firewood in her stocking feet, when she finds a boot. She is so excited and happy to have one warm foot, she wishes for a second boot and warm mittens. Her wish comes true. More wishes and better gifts come to her. The best gift is a visitor who is missing one boot, Santa Claus. She gives him her one boot and he promises her a gift. She receives the best gift that a lonely woman could ask for the next morning. This is a magical book with beautiful illustrations.
