Coat Of Many Colors

Written by Dolly Parton, Illustrated by Brooke Boynton-Hughes

How can you not love this book? It’s Dolly Parton’s own story about growing up very poor in rural Tennessee. It’s a story about how her mother made her a coat out of nothing but colorful rags. To Dolly it was the most beautiful coat in the world. However, others made fun of her and her coat until she told them that each rag had a story. Each rag had a history and that made her the richest girl in the world.
