A Long Pitch Home

Written by Natalie Dias Lorenzi

This is the best children’s book I have read in years! The author Natalie Dias Lorenzi did an amazing job of writing about a 10-year old boy, Bilal. He moves from Pakistan to the United States on a very short notice with his family, minus his father who has to stay in Pakistan. Bilal is really good at playing cricket in Pakistan, but in arriving in the United States he learns to play baseball, which is quite a bit different. In addition to making new friends and learning new things in the United States, he doesn’t know if or when he can be with his dad again.
