Magic in the City

Written by Heather Dyer, Illustrated by Serena Malyon

First, let us start on good terms…I really loved it. Three kids and magic things. 1. A carpet 2. A camera 3. A stopwatch. In the beginning, two boys had to move to a house with a very annoying cousin but are stopped by a magician and got a stop watch and a camera… weird right? They were magic! The stopwatch could stop time and the camera would take you into any picture. But, when are they were going to get to leave? The only thing the magician had left was a rug, he asked if the kids wanted it and of course, they said yes. They took the rug to the house and went for a ride on the rug, which could fly, but got wet. The rug cannot fly when it is wet. They were taken home by a police officer. They told the police that they were on a picnic. So, in the end they went and saw the queen and gave her all the time she wanted with the stop watch and went home. (This is a summary so it is not as exciting as reading the book). The queen came, re-bought their house so that they could live there again (They really missed it.) and they lived happily ever after. They lost all three magic things, but at the end there is a twist and it is cool. I really loved the book. Read it!
