Ferin is a messenger who must reach Lirael with a dire warning about a formidable enemy. Each must rely on each other, friends, and strangers to overcome evil. Goldenhand was a good story, but not engaging enough for me to want to go back and read any of the previous books. Perhaps if I had read the series in order the characters would elicit more buy in. It is the fifth and final book in the Old Kingdom series.
