Green City

How One Community Survived a Tornado and Rebuilt for a Sustainable Future

Written by Allan Drummond

Greensburg, Kansas was hit hard by a tornado. It could have destroyed the town forever. Instead the town pulled together to rebuild. However, they decide to build it even better. It needed to be stronger so a tornado could never destroy it again. However, they also decided to build it green. That meant that they would use recycled materials to build. However, it also would mean that the town would have to be self-supporting with things like electricity, etc.
